Dear Ricardo Nirenberg,
This is just a note to say that I very much enjoyed your review of 'Words in
Air' which I just discovered in your Spring issue.
Most of the other reviews, even when highly favorable, pretty much stayed
within the tracks laid out in my introduction.
Yours, however, ranged far and wide and viewed the book from a number of
  angles I hadn't previously considered.
I particularly liked your emphasis on Bishop's and Lowell's engagement with
poetry in languages other than English—a major angle which I can't recall
that any other reviewer has addressed. I also liked your discussions of
their, and especially Bishop's, engagement with the contemporary
            (midcentury) world.
And how could I not be pleased by your description of the edition as "a
superb, shining counter-example of current editorial practice"?
            Anyway, thanks again!
